ORIGINAL Sip 'n' Shades
This painting is a mile marker in my journey as an artist. The first still life I ever set up for myself. As a self-taught artist I went through many avoidable mistakes-one of which was the misconception that using a reference photo meant I wasn’t a “good artist”. Seeing other artists online setting up their own still lifes, and putting together references propelled me forward in such a meaningful way, I wasn’t relying on my imagination for everything, AND I could choose things I loved to paint.
